Here at the Sugar Shack our “resident suggie mama”, Yvette Staple, is not only a USDA licensed breeder of sugar gliders, but she is also a Veterinary Technician licensed by the State of New York.  In 1995, Yvette graduated with high honors and a 3.97 GPA from the State University at Delhi and received an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Science in addition to the General Science degree that she currently held.

As a successful hobby breeder of fancy gerbils in excess of four (4) years and society finches for two (2) years, it was a natural progression into breeding sugar gliders for her.  Yvette has displayed a genuine love of animals since she was very young and has participated in several rescue efforts throughout the years.  Being driven by her a giant thirst for knowledge, Yvette consistently seeks to further her understanding of the animal world by participating in continuing education.

Currently, Yvette is enrolled in the Colony Curator Certificate program at Glider University and has successfully maintained an “A” average to this date. With our resident “suggie mama” on the job, you can rest at easy while feeling assured that your prospective joey is receiving the best care possible in the hands of this dedicated and responsible breeder.
